GEA Liquid Processing delivers STANDOMAT® modules for standardisation of milk and dairy products from our sister company GEA Westfalia.
Skimming separators split the incoming whole milk into skim milk and cream. If milk with a defined fat content is to be produced instead of skim milk a certain part of the cream has to be dosed back into the skim milk. This procedure is called standardizing.
Besides the continuous control of the standardized milk fat content the STANDOMAT® modules can also provide a continuous control of the cream fat content and a proportional dosing of additives.
STANDOMAT® provide precise standardisation with:
- Capacity; no less than 5000L/h
- Separation Temperature in centrifugal separator; 50 -60° C
- Fat content in the whole milk: at least 0.2%, high than the fat content standardized.
- Standard deviation in milk STANDOMAT: fat ± 0,025 %
- Standard deviation in cream STANDOMAT: ± 0,25 %
The Vario Control system integrated into the STANDOMAT ® is characterized by a combination of the precision with which the density sensor measures fat content and the high response speed of the flow sensors. Variations in fat content are thus continuously eliminated. Even after any production stoppages or changes, there is an immediate return to the preset parameters.
Such changes may, for example, take place as a result of raw milk tank changeover, partial emptying of centrifuges or the beginning and end of production, when water is flowing through instead of milk or vice versa. The STANDOMAT® not only allows milk to be standardized, but also enables the fat content of cream and whey cream to be controlled and checked fully automatically.
